Coming soon: being built
Malaysian policy and regulation, followed for your sector.
A Malaysian edition of Policy & Regulatory Advisor is being built. We plan to show it from November. It will follow federal and state government, Parliament and regulators, rate what it finds for your sector, and turn the week into a short briefing in English, with a link to every source.

Who it’s for
Built for corporate affairs, government relations and policy teams in Malaysia who need to know what’s moving, what’s open for comment and what’s heading to a vote.
- Corporate affairs
- Government relations
- Policy
What it will cover
Parliament
Bills in the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara, stage by stage in English with the Malay names, plus the sitting calendar, order papers and Hansard.
Federal government and regulators
Ministries, the central bank and regulators: their announcements, directives and new subsidiary legislation.
Consultations and deadlines
Public consultations with their closing dates, so you can see what’s open for comment and how long is left.
The states
State governments and gazettes, starting with the key states and adding more over time.
Positions
Statements from parties, think tanks and industry bodies, labelled as positions. Parties are added on the same terms, whichever side they sit on.
We add each source only after reading its site’s terms and testing it. Some Malaysian sources need permission first, so the first demo will show the sources that are ready by then.
What you’ll get
Your week, briefed.
A weekly AI briefing in English of what changed for your sector, each point linked to its source.
Relevance, by sector.
Items rated for your sector. We start from the sectors we use in Australia and will adjust them for Malaysia.
Deadlines and bills in one place.
Consultation closing dates with the days left, and bills tracked stage by stage, in Malaysia time.
Summaries you can check.
Where we hold the source text, each AI summary is checked automatically against it before it appears. If it doesn’t pass, you see the facts and the link.
AI Advisor.
Ask in plain English and get answers drawn only from our Malaysian items, with a citation for each point.
Briefing emails.
The weekly or daily briefing for your sector by email, if you ask for it.
Already in the Australian edition
The Malaysian edition is built on the same platform. In Australia today you also get:
- Alerts on saved searches, and on the bills and consultations you follow.
- Downloads of the briefing, search results and items in Word, PDF and CSV.
- A private calendar link with consultation closing dates and sitting days.
We’ll confirm which of these come to the Malaysian edition, and when, as it takes shape.
This week’s priority items
Draft management plan for the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve
Fuel Quality Standards (Petrol) Amendment Determination (No. 3) 2026
Draft National Recovery Plan for the South-eastern glossy black cockatoo
How it works
Collect from official sources first, in Malay or English, then parliaments, parties, industry bodies and think tanks, each used within its site’s terms.
Check each English summary against its source.
Label every item In force, Proposed by government, In Parliament, or Position or commentary. Rules and reviewers set the label, not the AI, so commentary never sits on par with policy.
Brief you on the week, rated for your sector.
The four labels, as the portal shows them:
Built with care
- Official sources, used within their terms, with our own summaries in English and a link to the original.
- Hosted with the Australian edition: our database is in Sydney and the AI models run in Australia. Tell us if you need your data held in Malaysia.
- Party and stakeholder positions labelled the same way, whoever makes them.
- From We. Communications, with We Advisors, our policy advisory team in Kuala Lumpur.
Questions, answered
Is it available now?
Not yet. The Malaysian edition is being built, and we plan to start showing it from November. The Australian edition is live today, and we can show you that now.
What will it cover?
Federal policy and regulation, Parliament, public consultations and the states, plus positions from parties and stakeholders. We add each source only after reading its site’s terms and testing it, so the first demo will show the sources that are ready by then.
Which language is it in?
English, with Australian spelling. Malay sources get an English summary, and the Malay title is kept beside the English one.
Is it a legal research database?
No. Legal research services help lawyers find and apply the law. This shows corporate affairs, government relations and policy teams what government and regulators are changing, what’s open for comment and where bills stand. The two do different jobs and work side by side.
Where is the data held?
In Sydney, Australia, with the Australian edition, and the AI models run in Australia. Our privacy notice explains how this applies under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Is it legal advice?
No. Always check the official source.
